Prolific writer Jeffrey Steele stops by the cellar to talk songwriting with Phil. He and Phil jam on Love is a Beautiful Thing. Jessie James Decker also drops in and does Lights Down Low and shares how she conquers being a singer-songwriter, TV star, entrepreneur and mom.
Hit songwriter Jeffrey Steele talks about the journey of his musical career, starting as the frontman of Boy Howdy in L.A., and ending up a full time songwriter in Nashville. Jeffrey turned down playing bass on the road with the band Lonestar to pursue songwriting, and later ended up writing the band’s hit single “These Days.” Steele talks about writing “Love Is A Beautiful Thing,” which sat uncut for 13 years before being recorded and released by Phi, and the two perform the smash-hit live as a duet.
Jessie James Decker heads straight from the airport to the cellar, coming off her radio tour for her newest single. She discusses balancing being a superstar singer with being the mother of multiple young children - one time resulting in performing at the Grand Ole Opry while holding her daughter on her hip onstage! Decker discusses the magic that is created from combining her equal passions for performing and songwriting as she writes her own songs for her upcoming album.
